Summer Learning Series: Learning, Growing, and Connecting
Every summer, I look forward to stepping out of my usual routine and stepping into spaces where I can learn, grow, and connect with other educators. This year was no different. I had the opportunity to attend several conferences and workshops, each offering a new perspective and practical takeaways I can bring back to my work.
Attending conferences has always been enjoyable for me. In addition to learning, it gives me the chance to network with like-minded individuals and strengthen my learning community. Educators from all over the nation who are enthusiastic about teaching, leadership, and doing what is best for teachers and students of all ages are people I like to be around.
One of the highlights of my summer was attending the 2025 Teaching Professor Conference in Washington, D.C., from June 5 to 8, 2025, where I participated in a session titled Empowering Digital Citizens in an Immersive Era: Integrating Digital Fluencies and Technology Tools (AI and XR) into Higher Education led by Juanita (J) Wallace. I attended the session to gain knowledge about artificial intelligence (AI) in education. AI is a rapidly evolving field that is already having a big impact on classrooms from kindergarten to higher education.
Over the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing posts, each one reflecting on a different professional learning experience from summer 2025. I’ll share key takeaways and insights I’m excited to bring into the school year. Whether you’re a fellow educator, a school leader, or just curious about what’s happening in the world of professional learning, I invite you to follow along.
Let’s keep growing together.
🟡 Stay tuned for my thoughts on the impactful session, Empowering Digital Citizens in an Immersive Era: Integrating Digital Fluencies and Technology Tools (AI and XR) into Higher Education! The first in my Summer Learning Series: Learning, Growing, and Connecting.
